STI is about to open a new plant in Agueda, Portugal. The plant in will be able to treat Titanium as well as Aluminium parts.

The construction of the plant in Agueda in the northern part of Portugal is under way and STI plans to open the plant in 2022. The facility will be able to handle Stripping, chemical machining and passivation of Titanium parts. Also, the plant will be able to handle TSA, Surtec 650, Alodine and QAS colored and clear aluminium parts.

Furthermore, the plant will be able to conduct penetrant inspections and painting of and is designed to handle large parts thanks to 4.5 m x 2.5 m large baths. The plant in Portugal will also be in constant contact and have a daily transport to STI France, where most of STIs aviation business is located.
